The Perfect Wedding Dress: $180
I was searching online for used wedding dresses. The idea was to spend a lot less and still get the “dream” dress. I found this dress on oncewed.com and followed the link from the image to the unique-vintage.com website and found the same dress for $40 less and in my size! For $180 I could just buy it and hope it works, it would have been nice to try it on first. Looking over the website I looked for an address. To my surprise, the store was 5 blocks from my work! What luck! I went to the store, tried it on, and that’s it! I bought it on the spot. Fit perfectly, comfortable, and complimented all my features, all for $180. Unbelievable, I know. My budget was $500, I thought for sure I wasn’t going to find anything less than that… I’d call that seredipity.
Save the New Date: April 22, 2010
It is true what they say, sometimes it’s not about finding what you want, it’s about realizing what you don’t want. A few months ago, I hired a wedding coordinator in New Zealand to help arrange all the details of our spectacular day. One of my requests was that she take video of the location and send it to us. After viewing the video, I realized it wasn’t right. The town is geared around the Glacier activities, it’s a 5 minute walk across town, and there’s not much to do other than sit in hot pools and see the glacier, go on hikes, and relax. Which is great! And I’m sure we’ll stop by Franz Josef and stay at Te Wanoui on our journey through the country. However, for a wedding, it just didn’t make sense. First, our guests would be bored out of their minds with the only shopping opportunity being at the local souvenir shop. And, in terms of photography on the wedding day, for us to get to the locations where we would want to take pictures it would be a 25 minute drive, with a 15 minute to an hour walking through trails and most likely, mud and rain, since it is a rain forest.
